Why did you choose to get into the Travel business? I’m the type of person that  has always been interested in learning something new. While in High School, I got the opportunity to try something new and do some on-the-job training at a local travel agency. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the business. There is always something new and exciting to learn, and it also presents the opportunity to talk with all sorts of delightful people. To this day, I’m still very enthusiastic about my job and still enjoy learning new concepts that come up in our business daily.

What year did you start in the travel industry? 2000

What is the best vacation you have ever been on why? My honeymoon to Hawaii. Hawaii is a beautiful destination. My husband and I were able to visit both Oahu and Maui. The people in Hawaii are some the friendliest people I’ve ever come across. They are delighted to let you in on all the “island secrets.” They gave us many wonderful suggestions on exciting things to see and do. This is a destination that provides so many different types of activities from lying around on the beautiful beaches to exploring hidden snorkeling coves. It was a perfect vacation!

If you could plan your dream vacation what and where would it be? I’ve always wanted to visit Bora Bora, Tahiti. This magical island offers exotic beach bungalows, crystal blue waters, beautiful sunsets and quiet intimacy – this keeps calling my name! I want to spend 2-weeks in an overwater bungalow and take advantage of a canoe breakfast – they actually deliver a delightful breakfast right to your balcony by canoe!! Bora Bora also offers wonderful watersports including snorkeling, windsurfing, and jet skiing. I would make sure to find time for all of that, plus beachfront massages, local shopping and lots of relaxing. All of this sounds like a dream come true!!

If you weren’t a Vacation Specialist at Mr. Travel what else would you be doing? I would do something that allows me to be around children. I would enjoy being a school teacher, as this would allow me to be constantly learning something new – from a student’s favorite ice cream to a new algebraic equation. This would be a very challenging, but rewarding position.
